Palermo to Scopello is 58 km from the airport and 75 km from the city, about 70 minutes by car on the toll-free A29. Car, bus, train and taxi compared.

Palermo Cathedral with its dome and clock tower, palm trees and clipped hedges in front

Scopello is about 70 minutes by car from Palermo: 58 km from Palermo airport and 75 km from the city, almost all of it on the A29 motorway, which is toll-free. A hire car is the simplest way and takes you right to the villa. Bus and train work too, but they stop in Castellammare del Golfo, 8 km from the villa (the station is 13 km away), so plan a taxi for the last stretch.

By car from Palermo

Take the A29 towards Trapani and leave at Castellammare del Golfo, at km 47.7. From there the SS187 towards Trapani runs about 4 km to the turn for Scopello and the Zingaro. The exit was partly closed for works and has been open again since 10 July 2026. The A29 itself is run by ANAS and is free of charge.

Palermo airport lists 13 car hire companies with desks in the arrivals hall. If you start from the city centre, mind the restricted traffic zone; our article on an evening in Palermo explains it. The villa has free parking for several cars on the property.

By bus

Autoservizi Russo runs from the airport to Castellammare del Golfo and San Vito Lo Capo. Bluekeys, which sells private transfers, lists line RU04 to Castellammare: 35 to 38 minutes, 6.40 euro single, five departures a day between 09:35 and 19:35 (page of 12 August 2026). Check the timetable and the days of operation with Russo before you rely on a departure; tickets are sold online, in its app and at authorised outlets.

A Russo bus runs from Castellammare to Scopello on weekdays, three times a day, about 20 minutes for 2.40 euro (PartinicoLive, 23 May 2026). The villa is 2 km from Scopello, and there is no bus at weekends, so take a taxi for the last part.

By train: possible, not practical

The direct line between Palermo and Trapani via Milo has been closed since 2013; Italian state railways give 2028 as the year it should reopen. Until then the journey to Castellammare del Golfo needs a change and takes 1 hour 5 to 2 hours 4, for 7.90 to 8.50 euro (Omio, Bluekeys). Check the timetable on Trenitalia before you travel.

The station called Castellammare del Golfo is in the municipality of Alcamo, 3.7 km by road east of the town centre and 13 km from the villa. A Bluekeys shuttle links the station and the town in 20 minutes for 1.90 euro. After that you still need a taxi.

By taxi or private transfer

No fixed taxi fare from the airport to the villa is published. For Castellammare del Golfo, 43 km away, the sources give about 50 euro (JamTransfer, an estimate) up to 126 euro for a minivan for three people (Bluekeys, 30 to 45 minutes, with a 20 per cent surcharge from 20:00 to 08:00). Ask us before you book which transfer we would suggest: the contact page is linked below.

Fly into Palermo, and about 70 minutes later you have the sea and quiet: Villa Giulietta stands in the countryside near Scopello, 75 km from the city.
